What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is when hypnosis is used as part of treatment for a medical condition. It is an evidenced-based, successful treatment for many common conditions such as pain, fears, anxiety, functional symptoms, habits and bedwetting.
Experiencing hypnosis is like having an enjoyable daydream. While in this state of mind, you can better use your inner resources to help achieve your desired changes.
Increasing your ability to control symptoms through hypnosis can strengthen confidence and self esteem and is a skill that can be used throughout the lifetime.

What to Expect at Your Visit
Initial Visit
Initial visits are conducted via HIPAA compliant video and usually last 1-1.5 hours. The main purpose of this visit is to get to know your child, their imagination and how they feel about their problem and what if anything they would like to be different. Dr Soylu will also review any previously completed questionnaires. By the end of the visit, Dr Soylu will let you know if hypnosis would be an appropriate treatment option or whether alternative or additional treatment is recommened. She will also further explain medical hypnosis and discussion specific to your child and answer any questions.
Follow up Visits
The hypnosis sessions will begin at the first follow up visit. Everyone is different so no 2 sessions will be the same. Video visits have been shown to be just as effective as in person; however Dr. Soylu may recommend in office. If you prefer in office, please let Dr Soylu know.

Yes! Kids have great imagination and go in and out of hypnotic trance throughout the day. Given this and their openness to suggestions makes them great candidates for hypnotherapy
