Autism Testing

• Are you or someone else concerned about your child’s development?

• Did your pediatrician or other individual recommend that you to have your child tested for Autism?

The providers at You and Me Pediatrics are knowledgeable about child development and autism and we know that it can be difficult it can be to obtain an evaluation in a reasonable time. Our clinic uses the ADOS-2, which is the gold standard for autism testing and is able to schedule easily. It typically involves 3 visits in which the first and last visits may be done via telehealth.

3 Step Process

1. Screening Evaluation

   Parents fill out a standardized form about their child’s behavior and development. This helps us get you know your child and determine the need for further testing and which specific ADOS test is appropriate.

2. ADOS-2 Evaluation

   This in office evaluation is a direct observation of your child, by the provider, with you present and lasts about an hour. You, your child and the provider will engage in various forms of play while the provider observes interactions and assesses how your child communicates and interacts with their environment.

3. Review of Findings

   The provider will review all the findings and prepare a written report for you and your Pediatrician (if not us). The caregiver and provider will meet in office or via secure video to discuss the results and recommendations. We will also supply you with additional resources as necessary to support your family.
